Chaos on Bannerghatta Road

Recently (on 31st July) Karnataka CM inaugurated most pending flyover in B'lore (may be in India) for public. I came to B'lore before 3 years and almost since then I'm watching construction of this fly over. This fly over was constructed to ease intermediate ring road traffic, which passes from Banashankari to CSB circle on Hosur road through BTM. (Actually seeing BTM circle is bottleneck point on that road.) Few months back this fly over was opened from East End to BTM but in a short period they had to reverse the direction of traffic as they started constructing underpass. So one stretch of fly over which was supposed to carry traffic of Bannerghatta road to BTM was waiting for long time for commuters. Lots of people suffered for a very long period due to construction of this fly over. Every one commuting on this way was waiting for this flyover to open as soon as possible so that they'll get some relief from regular traffic jams (clogs). Finally the most awaited day arrived, CM opened flyover for public and underpass too. But the picture turned to be totally reversed as expected and as presumed. The traffic on Bannerghatta road almost came to halt. Even I was one of those who got stuck in that traffic jam. I's just coming from forum through dairy circle. And I opted for underpass. And I’s shocked to see that these was a huge traffic jam right from the center on under pass. But as I already entered there I had no choice to turn back. Then I thought I’d go ahead and take a right turn and move towards my destination through JP Nagar 3rd block. But situation went worst when I came to know that all right turns on the road are sealed and I have to go till Mandovi Motors to move out of that traffic jam. And of course I's not the only person in this situation. Many were there to give me company. There was a family on their Kinetic Honda wishing to reach their home mostly in JP Nagar 3rd phase. But even they could not take a right turn and had to come till Mandovi Motors and then take U turn to reach their home. I could see that the lady sitting behind was literally tired of sitting on vehicle in such heavy traffic jam. But still a small kid with them was making faces and enjoying the situation. Finally after half or more that half an hour I reached Mandovi Motors and rushed on Ring Road and got traffic jam again as expected. This half an hour was really not what everyone expected after opening of flyover. It took me half an hour just to cross about 1km distance. The place near to Commerse@Mantri on Bannerghatta was a real bottleneck. Vehicles were rushing from under pass, overpass and from inside BTM and the road leading after this place was just a two lane where as it has to be at least three lanes to handle so high inflow of vehicles. Where as on the other side of road where we could hardly see vehicles is made almost 4 lanes. And we could see sides of road are used as parking lot by people to park their vehicles. It's really an amazing contrast on the same road. Suddenly I remember Blue Star AC ad, which tell about desert and snow fall in same office. And I finished my day with such a great experience. Next day morning I started to my office located on Bannerghatta road in Bilekahalli area. It's just 2.2km from my home but took almost half an hour to reach. I crossed Delmia circle when signal opened for us third time. There was no place for vehicles to move ahead of Delmia circle as traffic jam reached till Delmia from Mandovi Motors junction. It's all chaotic situation on ring road. When I reached on Bannerghatta road the situation was worse and remained as it was for the whole day. Bannerghatta road was chocked up for whole day and may be till 10-11 o'clock in the night. Here are few pics, which I took on Bannerghatta road as well as ring road.

Because of such some people started taking short cuts. And to mention, road besides Garam Masala Hotel was the best at that time even I used the same one. But even its entrance was clogged as you can see in following pics.

Somehow I reached on ring road through JP Nagar 4th phase and shocked to see vehicle lined up Ring road. Even you can see those as below.

And on next day I met a very strange situation. The road that hardly sees any vehicle on it was literally flooded with vehicles making one side to halt for almost 5-10 mins. And of course I's in that halted traffic. It’s a road, which comes in from Delmia circle towards dollar’s colony in JP Nagar 4th phase. Just have a look at an amount of traffic.

I hope this side effect on Bannerghatta Road traffic because of Jayadeva Flyover opening will be cured soon. And everything becomes normal ..
